No rock bottom?

Intriguing topic I heard on the radio since addiction has been a hot topic lately in the news. The thought that some would never hit a rock bottom or be able to pull away saddens me. I wouldn't wish addiction on anyone. My thoughts it exists and is prevalent.

It's a sad truth that many ( the majority by many estimates ) addicts will never beat their addiction.

I'd rather look at proof than odds though. I see people here on SR beat their addiction every single day against the odds....which tells me that anyone can do it if they really want to.

I think one of the great things is we don't necessarily have to hit a rock bottom, but I know what you're saying. We may not have another chance if we pick up again.

What has been going on with Lamar Odom has made me really sad since it was preventable. He will likely never be quite the same again, but at least he is alive.

Yes! Human potential is infinite. We truly are our own worst enemy and can accomplish ANYTHING once properly motivated and determined.

This saddens me too. I've been frustrated recently realizing I was having a relapse after having so many of what I considered rock bottoms. For myself I've decided no rock bottom, besides death, will stop me from drinking forever. I need to follow a recovery plan and stick with it the rest of my life. Without that I think I would eventually drink.
