16 days sober
Hi all 16 days sober which is good for me and long may it last. However i am not sleeping well at night. Just wondering if anyone has tried those tablets called Nytol or if anyone has any other good ideas i would be so grateful i am not great without my sleep. By the way the warm milk doesnt do it for me.
Day 16 is fantastic Tizzkins!!
For me time was a great healer, if like me you drank for years then it's going to take more than a few weeks to adjust, but it does eventually for most people.
How about a warm bath, some chilled out music, or I used to go for a long walk in the fresh air in the evenings, after a while my sleep improved!!

Congrats on 16 days Tizzkins! It took several weeks for my sleep patterns to return to anything close to a "regular" rhythm. I am personally not a fan of sleep aids or other supplements as they can also become addicting themselves.
Some things I learned that helped with sleep:
1. Make sure you aren't eating or drinking a lot the last couple hours before bed
2. Don't watch TV or internet content that will get your mind going before bed.
3. Make sure your room is dark and quiet as possible.
4. Try and get some exercise during the day if you can, even a short walk.
5. Make sure you aren't using your bed for anything besides sleeping ( IE - watching TV, etc )

My sleeping problems always seemed to sort themselves out without any medication, but
if anyone is having insomnia issues it's always best to see a Dr before starting any kind of supplement.
Things like benadryl are not actually sleep aids, and can be addictive for some...likewise even 'natural' things like melatonin are not always suitable for everyone.
