5 Month AA Meeting...
Continued...
Went to my 5 month sober AA meeting today. Have only been to 5 meetings in the last 2 months.
I got to tell these 7, 15, 26 etc year sober people "how I did it."
I said I was a binger that quit because of a vertigo attack after a hard work out. I didn't get any help, other than the internet minus SR until 80 days.
I don't have a Sponser, I work out and do BJJ. I don't crave much. I was lucky many times in the past. I am done w booze.
I go to meetings because I am trying to build sober muscles to defend against relapse.
Then I heard everyone else's story. Some so terrible. I felt guilty. I felt like a liar. But, my bottom was not dramatic. I know the next one could be. No way. Not going to happen.
Thanks to them and you for everything.

Hello D122y,
Thanks for posting this.
I have been to 2 AA meetings ever in my life, both in the last ten days, and I'll go to mtg #3 this week.
Bottom line is I know my rock bottom lies ahead of me if I continue to drink, so I'm not going to do that.
I've also realised ( duh ), that I'm only going to get through this first year if I get as much help as possible - and that means AA.
I would bet your contribution is as important as anyone else's, possibly more so. I have learned already that many long term sober people state they always takes something beneficial away from each meeting. Statistically, that is going to be something that you or I share sooner or later
Best Wishes
Fradley
