Went out tonight
I just got back from my first business trip since I quit drinking and despite many temptations I didn't drink. So I thought I'd go out tonight and celebrate by having sushi. My wife is out of town and she's a vegetarian so it was the perfect time. And I had a great time without sake or beer. But, gawd is sushi expensive. Luckily I've saved so much not drinking I could easily afford it.
I'm only a little over 30 days into this but I'm feeling really good overall. Sobriety is really worth it for any of those on the fence. It won't solve all your problems and you'll have good days and bad days, but that's just the way life is. Your worst day sober is so much better than all the crap you put up with drinking.
I'm just liking this new life and wanted to let you all know!

Thank goodness. When I saw "I went out tonight" I was afraid I was about to read how you drank. I remember my old sponcor would refer to: "going out" as drinking.
Congrats on paving your way to a better life!

Well done for treating yourself, and how nice that you had the cash to just go for it on the sushi.
I would love to go to a sushi bar but want to go with a friend who knows how it all works / what to do - I'm a bit nervous that I'd make an idiot of myself somehow or run up an astronomical bill without realising
