Hugging Helps
Hugging Helps
I guess I'm a hugger. My spouse is a hugger. I come from a long line of huggy hugging people. So it's a natural reflex for me.
But over the years I've been trained to be in tune to people who may not be open to hugging. There is just this 6th sense or something and I kind of feel prompted to give someone a hug who I sense needs on. This has never failed me.
There are so many people out there that needs hugs! I need hugs too, but I don't always get them automatically so sometimes I feel free to say, "I need a hug! I hug women, men, young, old. I hug them when their sad, lonely, stressed, mourning, indecisive, hurting, victorious (yes, there are victory hugs), struggling...so many reasons to hug.
We are all on a path that requires healing. Hugs are healing and I have found that getting enough hugs is something I need for sobriety.
How do you all feel about the necessity of hugs and staying sober?
