Hi sickofsick, are you willing to elaborate on this? Maybe you will receive more responses if people know what type of drug it is, how long etc...everyone is here to help and support.

Welcome to SR. I'm an alcoholic so I'm not familiar with drug withdrawal. However, addiction is addiction. Do you and your girlfriend have a plan to help with the quit? Support? Stick around here.

Not sure what you are trying to detox from but please seek help of you need it. This is a fantastic forum for support but your safety and health needs to come first.

Stay away from subs. That is horrible stuff.

If its just opiates, you can do this. Will suck for a few days, but completely doable. Use the Thomas recipe and there are many other Internet tips about detoxing off opiates.

Can you go to a professional detox center? That will also get you focused on solution, not just detoxing.

Hang in there. Do this for yourself.

Yep, subs are the worst. How many mg and how long at that dose?

You can totally DO this, SOS! Detoxing from opiates is a rough ride, You will feel like you have been hit by a train with the flu. Sometimes being at the point of do or die is what it takes.

So, DO. Don't die.

Great decision to get clean and stop the never ending cycle, so you can sleep again and feel better. There will be tears and emotions will feel unstable, try to keep yourself busy during waking hours. Eat some good food and drink plenty of fluids. Love and feel your way through it together. You will pull through. We support you.

Welcome. Detox is hellish, but the first step.. set small goals for yourself one day at a time man. Good luck to ya and keep your head up. A lot of people are going through what you are.

Hi sickofsick, I had two knee surgeries in May, have been on quite a bit of the short acting oxycodone (not oxycontin) since then, I went and saw my Dr. yesterday to start a tapering plan. So I am very interested in hearing about your progress as I have concerns as well. PM anytime. I have cut back on my own, but want and need to get off over the next 3 months. So we've made a plan.
