Finally Found an Alanon Meeting!

I hear of some people looking for meetings and having to drive far away just to find them.... In my town, there a ton! Like, 5-10 meetings any day of the week! But being a single mom, I was really having a hard time finding one that fits into my work schedule and with the kids' school and extra curriculars, etc....

But I think I finally found one that fits, today! It was packed with almost 40 people! And only one of those people I recognized from a different meeting. And well, I am just amazed at how many people are affected by alcoholism! It is astounding what the numbers are! And what's more is all those people who don't even know about it or are afraid to go...

Anyway, it felt good to finally feel like I can get comfortable. I know I've needed real meetings for a long time! And I am excited to finally be starting them regularly =) Yay!!

I'm also happy for you, LG. While SR is a wonderful resource and I can't imagine having gotten this far w/o all of you, there is something to be said for the face-to-face nature of Alanon. I think the two together are a really powerful combination for recovery, and I hope you find that to be the case too.

That's great!

Al Anon and SR keep me sane.

I have to say I can't imagine where I would be now without My weekly Al Anon.

I have only been attending since January so am still a newbie. I have been educating myself online for years though and I really have embraced the program and my life has transformed.

I use my Al Anon tools in many areas of my life - such simple guidelines that have such a huge impact on ones life.
Take care Phiz
