That is such great news! May I ask for how long and how much were you drinking? I am afraid to go for my liver bloodwork although cholesterol and everything else was normal

I was drinking on average 2 bottles of wine a day towards the end, sometimes more - Id been a bottle of wine drinker daily for the last 15 years up until the last few years I found I needed more to get the same desired affect, it just creeped up on me, before I knew it I couldnt stop until I ran out of booze and couldnt afford more or more commonly til I passed out. If I had a 75cl of vodka or whiskey in front of me, Id drink pretty much all of it. Dont be afraid of tests, the liver is a remarkable organ, in two months of sobriety mine is back to normal and its a good feeling!

That's great news! I don't even know you, yet I'm very proud of you, too!

I remember going to the doctor just to update my prescriptions for asthma related meds, and they would want to do blood tests every few years for check-ups. My doctor would ask how much and how often I drank alcohol, because my liver enzymes were high. I always lied about my use, downplayed it, and just waved it off as something to be dealt with later. At the time I was thinking, "Ain't nobody got time for that! Pfft..."

I have more than two years sobriety now, and my last blood work showed that my liver is fine now, and even my blood pressure has gone down and remained in a normal range. My body is saying "thank you, thank you!" for getting that poison out of there, and keeping it out! It really is a bonus in my life, and I trust that you will have many more reasons to be proud of yourself as time goes on!

Yay blueberry!!

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought liver function tests were done as part of a lipid profile (cholesterol, etc.). Maybe you had it done and just didn't recognize it as a liver test. OR....all was normal, and not flagged for the dr. Hope so.
