Embarrassed and ashamed
Embarrassed and ashamed
Okay so after being 90 days sober and sharing on here last year I drank around Thanksgiving thinking "I'll only do it for the holiday weekend"...yeh right, today is day one....again!!
Today - to not drink...one day at a time...I was soooo confident last time that I could lick this......gonna be listening for that demon voice this time and tell it to shut up! Praying a lot too!
Welcome back Suziequeue. One day at a time, just don't drink today. Take yourself back to those 90 days you had and remember what worked to keep you sober back then.
I had the same experience after 9 months sober. After thinking I could have one day of drinking, I threw a whole year away before I made it to day one again.
Glad you are back in the fight.

But the good news is, that was the catalyst for getting me back here, back into AA, and embracing sobriety. Almost two years now.
Welcome back.

90 days is good though, how did you manage it? I find holidays tough, im scared of doing the same, thats why I dont even let myself have one. Although I've got other problems at the minute, but I beleive drink does the most damage....jobs, relationships etc
Good luck!
Good luck!
Welcome back, Suziequeue, and congrats on choosing a better way of life in recovery today.
Remember you don't have to take that first drink today no matter what, and as long as you don't take that first one you don't have to worry about the second or third or eighth drink that would probably follow.
Wishing you the best and hope you'll become an active member here. It's made all the difference in my recovery...

Hi Suzie, and welcome back. I had to do more than just not drink when I quit. I had to change stuff and find support. So I'm on here a lot and attend AA for face to face meeting with like minded people.
Be well!
