Need some real help

So, I have had a lot of trouble getting sober. I went to my primary care physician and she put me on Librium. All good. However, me and my boyfriend had a slip up last night. We are usually very careful but I'm not currently on birth control. I looked up information about Librium prior to taking it and read that it is completely unsafe to take while pregnant or even thinking about becoming pregnant. I looked up information about Librium prior to taking it and read that it is completely unsafe to take while pregnant or even thinking about becoming pregnant. I called my doctor and she told me that my only options were the Plan B pill or stop taking the Librium. I called my doctor and she told me that my only options were the plan B pill or stop taking the Librium. I have decided to stop taking the Librium and will not drink if there's any chance that I might be pregnant, but now I'm left to withdraw without any assistance. Oh, and The doctor the quick calculation and I am currently The doctor the quick calculation and I am currently ovulating. Sorry for TMI

Hi LScotty - I'm confused as to whats going on, to be perfectly honest.

I'd take a pregnancy test whenever you're sposed to do that and take it from there.

Bottom line is right now the Dr's given you the option of not taking the Librium and you've gone with that, right?

I hope the withdrawal is not too bad for you. Don't hesitate to call the Dr again or go to the ER if you need to.

Lscotty you seem to be making several decisions at a time which can make your recovery very difficult.

Can't you do a pregnancy test immediately, it may well be fine for you to take the Librium. The second step is to immediately get some birth control because you cannot be pregnant and take Librium. Your recovery is the essential thing here.

Sorry for not making so much sense, I went to my doctor and got on Librium. Now there's a possibility that I could be pregnant, or not. But regardless unless I want to choose an abortive measure, I have to withdraw cold turkey and there's not a whole lot they can do for me. With the possibility of being pregnant. That's all. Just scared. And unfortunately posted this twice. Sorry guys

I understand you're scared you might be pregnant, and that's why you're stopping the librium now.

Once you find out for sure if you're pregnant then you can make further decisions based on that, so I'd take a test at the first suitable moment you can, whenever that is (complete ignorance of such things, here).

I have about five more hours to make the decision to terminate A pregnancy that may or may not be. I have had an abortion and have regretted it deeply. I know this is kind of outside issue stuff, but I don't know what to do.

A positive pregnancy test could take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks

You can stop drinking without the Librium if you focus on your recovery. What kind of recovery plan do you have and what have you tried? Many of us struggle to stop, but hopefully you will continue to work on stopping drinking.

Lscotty please note what Venecia said about using the PlanB pill. I would urge you to go to a doctor and get f-t-f advice now because the time frame for using the PlanB pill is small, if you choose not to use it then you can face the next step with advised consultation.

You need professional accurate advice immediately.

i don't understand what you are waiting for. Why not just take the pill?
If I didn't want to be pregnant and had a pill in my hand that would guarantee it, I'd take it
But whatever you do, don't drink. Pregnant or not. Librium or not.

Thanks dee. My doc set it was a 24 hour time window for the pill. I've just had such a hard time staying sober .
