Sobriety is beautiful!

I walked into town today, and took the scenic route home, through the park. I went to sit by the river for a cigarette (yeah, I haven't quit THAT yet, sue me )

Anyway, on the grass a few feet from the bench, a guy was fast asleep, surrounded by beer cans. In the river, a group of kids were kayaking. It was as if I was sitting between my childhood (I could kayak way before I learned to write my own name, my Dad was an instructor), and my wasted adult years. And I was so glad that I chose to get free of the booze. It's always gonna be a fight to keep my sobriety, but I'm determined. It's so worth it.

I need to buy a kayak

You are so right that sobriety is beautiful! But you have to be sober to really get that and you are...happy for you. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Yup, being sober is pretty great. I've always wanted to try kayaking...

I love this! Buy the kayak, you won't regret it.

And I've not managed to quit the smoking either
