Sobriety is beautiful!
I walked into town today, and took the scenic route home, through the park. I went to sit by the river for a cigarette (yeah, I haven't quit THAT yet, sue me )
Anyway, on the grass a few feet from the bench, a guy was fast asleep, surrounded by beer cans. In the river, a group of kids were kayaking. It was as if I was sitting between my childhood (I could kayak way before I learned to write my own name, my Dad was an instructor), and my wasted adult years. And I was so glad that I chose to get free of the booze. It's always gonna be a fight to keep my sobriety, but I'm determined. It's so worth it.
I need to buy a kayak
