My first post

Today I start a new journey in my life. Today is the day I told myself no more. I'm tired of being sick N tired. I'm tired of waking up not remembering. I'm tired of letting my wife and family down I'm tired of letting myself down. I say no more to drinking. Today is the 13th. I hope this will be my new lucky #!

Welcome Cdasuta. Setting a Day 1 is a brave step. There's a wealth of information and experience here from accumulated years of sobriety. Read and post often. SR is an awesome support system.

We can do this!!! But I am worried about when I'm with the people I know that do drink. That will be the test for me.

It's hard in the beginning but gets much easier with time. Have a plan coming into a situation, and always have a non-alcoholic drink in your hands, take your pick which one.

And the situations where the main purpose is to get loaded are best avoided altogether.
