Question

So towards the end... While you were still drinking, did you ever at restaurants look around to see who was drinking? I am actually surprised to see a lot/most are drinking water, sodas, ice teas.. Etc. I guess I had HOPED more people were boozing it up to make me feel better about myself. Reason number 135,765,677 I know I am an alcoholic, I obsessed over things like this when I went out. Day 3 here tucked in bed and 100% sober. Just rambling tonight!

Great going on 3 day! Nothing like laying our sober heads down on the pillow...makes for a much nicer Sunday.

I would always end up bellied up to the bar at the food places. Get a tall cold one first then decided what to eat, and usually a light appetizer. While ordering another tall cold one. For some reason in my convoluted mind I rationalized it because other drinkers had done the same, so I felt like I was with my own. I also remember avoiding places that didn't serve alcohol like the plague.

Many people don't drink or do so infrequently. And then only one, maybe two.

Congratulations on your day 3

In the beginning of my sobriety I got a lot of rest. It's good for a healing body, soul and mind. Might also be a great time in which to gather our Sober Toolbelt. Healthy things we plan to do so as to strengthen our days sober.

Best wishes
from

To be honest, I've heard what you mention a lot on this website (that most people don't drink). I've observed the opposite. I went to a baseball game with my father recently and it seemed like EVERYONE was drinking beer, cider or drinks. Seriously, everyone within 30 feet of us was drinking alcohol. My father and I were drinking diet soda. I was actually proud of him because he drinks every night and he had no reason not to drink because I was driving. But he didn't, so good for him.

It does fade but from time to time I still check out who is drinking and who isn't

It is a humbling feeling to just sit and be. Realize everything around you doesn't matter as you take care of yourself. I think I may go for a jog and just take in the beauty of nature.
