I found this article when reading in Guideposts and just wanted to share the link here. It tells Danny Simmons' story, the pain and gain, and shows there is always hope, that recovery is possible:

I love hearing and reading the stories of recovering addicts. They are inspirational. I have tremendous respect for an addict in recovery. Many of them have been to hell and back......and lived to tell the tale.
