AA- Step 8

Hello SR.

Just met with my sponsor last night and finalized my AA Step 8 (amends)list.

My next step is to break the list into 3 separate groups...(Easy, Intermediate, Hard) at least that's how it was explained to me.

Just curious on other's experience who have done this step...And the next one Step 9 of actually doing them.....(Scary!)

Just past 8 months sober....My god this is such a better life now.

Thank you ALL for making SR a safe place to come and talk about this stuff.

ftw,
yes, i was scared to do step nine.
and sitting across from the people, looking in their eyes and saying what i'd come to say was hard. listening to some of what they said back to me and really hearing was harder. hardest was to really be present to the fact that i'd really caused this pain and distress and harm. i'd really harmed this real person.

and each time i met with a person for a step 9, i walked away freer. each and every time. regardless of their response.

i didn't divide my list into three parts; i just started with what seemed the doable one at that time. though yes, i did know who'd be the toughest and left him for last.

you know the step nine promises? before we're halfway through....yes!

I think mine were divided into feasible and not or something, yours sound organized. I wouldn't go saying any are easy! Some, like my dad, I did by keeping my side of the street clean. He isn't a talker, so we didn't talk about it. I showed in my actions. One guy passed away, so I prayed my amends to him.

My partner was the toughest, but the first one I did face to face.

You will feel freer and freer after each one. It's definitely worth it. Congrats on 8 months!!
