well keepinitreal,
I've asked myself the same question over and over again. And I found answers...In alanon/naranon, coda...working on myself, loving myself, valuing and respecting myself.
Nothing changes, if nothing changes.
You don't have control over your addict, (or the drugs), but you have control over yourself...so what are you going to do about it?
HUGS-

you will recognize recovery when it's a reality.
otherwise, it's your decision to stay. We've been where you are. Regret is an awful thing to live with. Co-dependence keeps us in a cycle ... read the stickies at the top of this forum, look into a meeting in your area and think about reading Codependent No More by Melody Beattie.

When you've had enough of his BS and cycling, you'll get off this crazy train
and let the addict get on with his life, with or without addiction,
while you move on and get on with yours.
Sounds like you may finally be getting close to ready to do that?
