Wanted to post something nice :) success!!
so I wanted to post something nice - hopefully someone can feel a little positive.
I am 8 days into my fourth real attempt. Last ones were 30 to 47 days.
Obviously they did not stick.
Hubby and I went to a concert (electric zoo at Randall's island). It's a huge dance party with a tonnnnn of alcohol. I have NEVER done a sober concert or festival. We would usually pregame and get good and blitzed and wander in late. We'd then spend a hundred bucks and then be annoyed on our way home that the buzz was wearing off so of course we'd stop for more.
Not today. Today was the first sober concert I ever went to. And him too. It was kind of weird. I'm so used to nodding off, having the alcohol runs, dry heaving, nausea, and dehydration during the show.
I just drank a little too much red bull
I did have to avoid some projectile vomiting, two guys stumbling after a fight, public urination and random cop stops of the other drunks. I felt sorry for the girls with the runny eye makeup and stumbling in their pretty shoes. I felt sorry for the guys who stumbled all over and got loud.
I WAS that. Did people look at me too then.... I am sure I was a lot worse.
I tell you this because I want to share and I want people who started a week ago or six month ago, to know its possible. It's possible to do the seemingly impossible.
No one ever said "wow I'm glad I had that drink"
Thank you, friends for supporting and posting and letting me read about your life. It's helped me so much.
