Pregnant.. Soo no choice have to stop

I've been on and off this site for awhile after 2 months of being sober back in April I went back to drinking heavily 1-2 bottles of red wine! Hating and wishing I could stop for good!!!! Today I found out I was preggo! So here I am once again! This would be my third child and with the first two I stopped completely! I need to do it for the 3rd as well! Thanks for listening!

Congratulations on the baby!
I was drinking heavily just before my last one (he's 11 now) but I quit the second I saw that pregnancy test.

Welcome back Yazzylove and congrats on your news - it's a brand new ballgame now

apart from us, do you have any other ideas on how to stay sober?

No clue Dee! And thanks for welcoming me back! No clue how I'm going to do this! Not AA, thought about therapy or smart recovery! But really whatever it takes! Any suggestions?

Congratulations yazzy!

AVRT helped me quit alcohol for good. Rational Recovery has a crash course you can read on their website which is what I did. And it just really clicked for me. A lot of people here have used Smart and LifeRing and mindfulness as well. The secular connections forum has some great resources and threads to read on alternatives to AA that might interest you.

I stopped completely with my two pregnancies too. The problem was staying stopped once the baby was born. I use here and AA, and support in real life.

Stick around and congratulations!

I stopped completely for my 2 pregnancies but got back up to 2 bottles a night once babies born, I now want to be present in their lives, be a good role model and not risking my life or theirs through being in a drunken stupor...

Good luck xxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy. As others have said it's a great idea to have a plan. The first thing I did when I brought my son home from hospital was open the wine

Congrats! That is great news. I stopped completely as well for both of my pregnancies. I often tell people that being pregnant was the happiest time of my life. I realize now it was because I was sober for that time. :-)

Wishing you well.

Worth reading again...

Have something in place for after the birth of the child. Being alcohol free is equally important after your baby is born and through their childhood, for this one and the ones you already have.

Thanks for the welcome! I am definitely coming on here daily to check in and prepare for my sober pregnancy and life there after! I can't wait! I haven't been sober for 9 months straight in 8 years! And even then I snuck maybe a glass of champagne somewhere in there!

Congrats on the baby! I know you'll do the right thing.

Hopefully the baby comes out happy & healthy, with all 10 fingers and 10 toes,
