Seems like a lifetime ago...
<sighs> I had this really beautiful and eloquent post typed out, then the server crashed and stole it all away.
So, the gist of it was, I am here now 18 months sober. I never thought I would be able to make it this far. I'd really like to thank all the wonderful people here on SR for their support that helped me through some tough times.
I'd also like to say welcome to all the new folks. It may be a scary thought, getting sober, but I promise, it's worth it. If I could give you one piece of advice, reach out BEFORE you pick up that first drink. There's so much love and support here.

Thanks, Bim. Got my next appointment a week from today for hopefully a solution to growth issues. Cut the <bleep>ing things out!
Honestly, when we started this journey, I never thought I'd make it. Seemed so impossible. I am grateful for the hell of detox because that helps keep me sober. It's also great to really start to feel like my old self. I really liked the person I was before I derailed.

Aarryckha! So great to hear from you - thanks for dropping in! I'm so proud of you for 18 months. We shared the same intial sobriety date, but unlike you I had a fall. I'm now at 10 months and going strong.
