Red face Looking for support

Hi everyone! My name is Amy, I'm new to this site and wanted to introduce myself. I am in need of a little encouragement and support on my road to recovery - I have been trying to get sober on my own for 2 years now, quitting for a few days and ending up right back where I started, each time more depressed than the last.. I need sobriety, I need my life back! So here I am, reaching out for help because I finally realize that sobriety is not something that can be achieved on one's own - I am ready to release my addiction, I have been for a long time now, and I am asking for your help, advice, suggestions, support, and encouragement as I begin the road to sobriety and end my life of addiction for good!

Welcome to SR Amy. You'll find a ton of support and a wealth of information here. Have you ever followed any official sobriety plan of any kind over the past 2 years while you were trying to quit? ( AA, other meetings, AVRT, counseling, rehab, etc )?

Welcome to SR Amy

Have you thought about joining the Class of August 2015? It's a group of people trying to achieve sobriety who started in the month of August. I'm a member of the July group and we support each other daily

Welcome Amy,

You're right about the process of trying to stop drinking being depressing. I think it feels like you are going a bit lower each time. I'm so glad you found us and posted. We do understand how hard this is.
