inhale, exhale
have not posted. Mom of an addict. Yes, I was an enabler and by the grace of god, and my sons strength, he is now clean and sober, almost 9 months. Moms never rest though...I just worry, tomorrow is a new day, and could be so different.
He was in a half way house for 8 months, and is now in a 3/4 house...(his decision)......he says he is happy, is getting healthy, and likes life.
Going was not his decision. He was arrested for the 3rd? 4th? time.
not always for drugs in his system. he was on probation and tested weekly. 2 times was for non support of child payment..but that is what it is.
I just wanted to let everyone know there is a "window of light" sometimes. He had not been clean for 10+ years. He was never into anything major until about 8 yrs ago..when he decided to do herion.
I cringe..........I just cringe when I hear that word. It changes anyone, anything that touches it. it changed all of our lives.
We all think our children have life figured out at a point. Let me tell you it can happen at any age.
His didn't happen until 2 college degrees and in his mid 20's later.
sad to think he being mid 30's has nothing to show for life at his age. He is starting over. I pray this works for him, but as a mom I just fear daily knowing tomorrow could be different.

I had to start my life over at 40, with very little to show for it so it definitely is possible
