Day1
Surprisingly I don't feel horrible...yet. lol Perhaps the meds I started this morning are helping. Tonight will tell if I'm able to get any sleep. Usually night one is sweating, tossing & turning.
Tonight I had to drive about 2 hours round trip after work to pick up a foster pup. She's not fitting in as well as the other ones I've had. So I let mine play for about 1 1/2 hours and now I'm in the bedroom with the foster pup. It has kept me busy which is really good. Tomorrow after work I have a volunteer event right after work which is work related. No temptation there (I'm serious.). Friday night though, I don't have any plans, but that will be day 3 so I may be stronger by then.
I learned yesterday not to think about drinking in general. That helps me. When the thought comes to mind, I immediately think about something else.
I just took my "if needed for anxiety" pills. I usually wake up worrying so maybe it will help. Plus I will have time to think once turn out the lights.
All in all, a stressful work day, successful trip home without buying booze, but I made it!
