My poor cousin . . .
My poor cousin . . .
. . . died from alcoholism this week. She was 40 and had a 6 year old daughter. She had been dry for a while then fell off - alcohol poisoning I should think. There will be a post-mortem so we shall see.
She was - in my view - unlikely to recover as she would not / could not admit despite losing everything that drinking was her problem.
A part of me is glad that her little one is young enough not to be scarred by this as she would have been in a few years.
Her mum & brother found her in bed.
Could have been me, could have been any of us.
Stupid, stupid tragedy. Thank god I'm sober.

sobermax , What a tragedy - Very sorry for your loss. That Beast doesn't care who it takes
It took out 2 of my close friends these past 2 years , younger than me & I'm 55 . I managed to save myself .
To all the ones still struggling - Please think of your Health - before the Alcohol !!
