First AA meeting

I'm going to my first actual AA meeting in an hour. Kinda nervous but I know I have to do it. I kinda know what to expect as I've gone to similar group things just not specifically Any advice would be appreciated. Luckily I have few days sober so my nerves are not too bad.

hey zackman, good for you. My only suggestion is to keep an open mind ... it takes some time to get a feel for what is going on in AA. Also, if you don't like the first meeting, try some other ones --- every group is different, and it can take a few tries to find meetings that seem like a good fit. Best wishes!

My first meeting went great. I'm going again tomorrow for sure. I was actually excited leaving in a much better mood than when I arrived.

Great post!! I'm so glad you went, kudos to you!! I hope you go back! Also there's a 12 step group on this site, SR.. What ever program you choose we're all here for the same reason, getting sober and staying staying sober!
