Starting again

I've been relapsing since April, I made it 6 months with my last attempt. I'm back again and hopefully this is my last day 1.

It certainly can be the last one, anything that says it isn't or can't be is lying, call it out and don't believe the lie!

6 months is amazing. Again?

Since you have been trying to be sober, how many relapses, and what are the lengths of sobriety, and the lengths of the relapses? Why do you relapse? Generally....

Very curious because this is my first serious sobriety. Serious, passionate, dedicated, protective, and proud of being one of the most sober guys in the room on many occasions.

Since April I've pretty much been drinking on and off, sometimes going 2-3 weeks without drinking. Not drinking for long periods of time isn't hard for me as I am not a daily drinker or feel the need to drink. I can go plenty months not drinking. I'm a binge drinker so I can't stop when I do start. It makes for horrible near tragic nights, but those are few and far between. I think this time for me just as in the past is that I'm surrounded by people who don't think that I have a problem. I allow their thoughts to influence mine and convince myself that I'm not that bad. Also, boredom; I don't think I made a great effort to find other new and positive options instead of my old habits. I think a lifestyle change is definitely necessary, and that was something that I thought I was "smart enough" to not have to do.
