Another opportunity has arrived at your door. Every weekend I said I would stay sober and as I first started this path to sobriety I often failed. Well nearly every damn time to be exact.

I always got upset. Very upset. Why? Because I failed? Partly. Mostly was because I knew I could do it. I could stay sober Friday and Saturday and Sunday.

Now I had to wait a whole week to get the chance to prove it to myself. Aaarrrggghhh!!!! I wanted it right then and there!

I wanted the chance to face that time of day.... The day of the week... That moment where my craving would come as they always did and know I can crush them.

Your time has arrived. The moment is here. Can you hear it? Your sober weekend is calling. CRUSH it! You can. Because I did and will continue with you all right here!

I'm up early, want to get up in the roof space and start removing things before it gets too hot. A complete clean out and removal of everything from the crawl space/attic. Convinced sister to let me engineer a drain system near the house. After she finally saw the lake that accumulates and realized the 'siding' was under water the light bulb went on. Can't replace siding until reason it is rotting is fixed first...

Love waking up to Monday morning fresh, no hangover or withdrawal and LOVE not wasting my weekend away being drunk or sick.

Thanks rogue returning weekenders because you've helped me this week. I'm still on vacation. We're heading back today after going to the Wilds. I've gotten through some rough spots here. People walking by with beer. Thinking one wouldn't hurt. But it would. I'm on vacation, out of town, for the first time in five years only because I'm sober today. Five years. Before I got sober I couldn't plan. I had horrible anxiety. I had no confidence in myself anymore. Now I do.

So hang in through the weekend. You can do it! It's worth it.
