1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind
it does not hate the addict, but rather the addiction
Love does not enable, fix, rescue or save
Love sets boundaries and sticks by them
Love does not stand in the way of natural consequences
it is not self seeking, rude or hateful, not quick to take offense
Love respects that others have the right to live, make mistakes, learn and grow
but it does not believe lies, does not accept stealing, tolerate violence
Love does not force itself but is gentle
Love acts outs of wisdom and knowledge not from emotions
Love says NO and means it
Love trusts, believes and hopes in Letting go and Letting God
There is nothing love cannot face
even if love has to pick up and go on without the beloved.

Thanks Passion. It took me forever to respect my son's right to find his own way, make his own mistakes and pay his own consequences...none of this was mine to manipulate or fix.

This morning, as every morning, I give my son's care to God and live in faith that God can do for him what I cannot.
