Hello everyone!
Hey ,I hope this is the right place for this thread! Anyway , my names Calvin and I am 29 years old , after a few years of heavy drinking and wasting money I decided at the start of this year I wanted to go sober. I am doing well I just can't seem to give up the one or two nights a week and it is starting to really get to me. I can be fine all day , then the urge to go out and get drunk will suddenly hit and before I know it I am off down the pub to get drunk! I deliberately left my wallet at a friends so that I had no access to my money but just asked to borrow some off my parents! Then I wake up the next morning and get so annoyed with myself! I am determined to do this , I just need some support from people who have already done it. Any help or advice guys? Thanks.
Welcome Calvin nice to meet you Im inc a link there is plan information all over this link very useful http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...at-we-did.html
Welcome Calvin! Most people who are able to stay sober have found that they needed to do more than just not drink.
It can be done; like Retread already mentioned, reading and asking questions will give you the answers you're looking for and you'll get support here.
Welcome to Sober Recovery.
I agree that it is a pretty straight line between the decision to drink and the drink itself, but I don't agree that it happens before you know it. There are a lot of steps between the decision and the drink. A lot of points where we can undecide if your desire is truly to be sober.
Next time you get the urge, post to SR instead. Urges can be waited out. Urges can be told, "No."
