Day 3
Day 3
4:45 p.m of day 3. I've never gone this long before so apparently I've experienced all of the symptoms in the past with the exception of craving which I'm going through now. It seems like it's gonna be a b***h too!!!! Well "Mr. Withdrawal", bring it on!! I'm too determined, and alcohol has messed up my livelihood for the last time!! Any suggestions on cravings would be helpful.

Congrats on Day 3!
These threads helped me a lot in the beginning.

Keep up the good work!
Also, day three seems to be the peak of acute withdrawal so be safe. If you think you may need to see a Dr. please don't hesitate.

For me, the shakiness and bed sweats lasted maybe 4 days. The insomnia came and went for weeks, but I treated it with herbal tea (and very light dose OTC remedies for a while). Now it's just herbal tea in the evenings. It's my last ritual vestige of "drinking myself to sleep" like I used to when I binged.
The cravings afterward and even today aren't physical for me. The physical part was over within the first week. Now they're mental. In some ways that's tougher and in some ways it's easier. That's where this place helps me. When I can focus on them being "in my head" it gets much easier to deal with.
I'm still dealing with the emotional stuff that alcohol stuffed under the mattress for too long. That's good, and it's getting better.
Good luck and congrats on Day 3.

Hi 1day, as you can see, many people have experienced cravings (probably all) when quitting, and many have also found great ways to deal with them. I'm sure you can find something that will help. For me, its reading....and then more reading.
Appreciate the advice Thomas! Thanks a ton. Mine is walking and puzzles and things that I've never even done before. Good luck to you and stay strong as well
I have faught for 90 days to stay sober. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I am living the rest of my life sober. Having a great time living sober.
I am terrified of relapsing.
Words like deliberate, committed, resolve, persistent are constantly flowing in my mind.
Hope, wish, god willing, try...those are weak words for my intent. Can't use them.
