It took me a while to sort out my feelings. The first month was hard. Your central nervous system is recalibrating and healing after years of abuse. I found that exercise helped- it would tire me out and I could think through my feelings without lashing out at anyone and worrying about what I said.
You will get through this!! Things will get better. Just don't drink or you're back to square one.

<Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired HALT abbr. Sorry daybyday it does happen . My thoughts are when you get so into working hard on staying Sober & feeling happier cause your doing so Good . Your AV kicks in trying to tell you that your not happy
He/she's A Nasty Beast will trick you if you let it ... Think of something that you know makes "you" happy or relaxed & tell it to take a Hike !!

It's an acronym :
H - Hungry?
A - Angry?
L - Lonely?
T - Tired?
Basically if one of these physical/emotional needs is not taken care of, then a person my become vulnerable to cravings and therefore could turn to alcohol.
So it can be a very useful tool, used as a checklist we can make sure all bases are covered, plus if we know 1 is out of sync, making sure the others are covered can become a priority!!

emotions can sweep thru us, seemingly out of nowhere......random. often this occurs when we are in an otherwise calm, safe situation.....when we don't have our force fields up.
it takes work but we can learn to just let those feelings BE -without fighting them or trying to numb them. if we do that, and stay focused on the good and positive, they will pass.

Thank you ALL for your support and the information on HALT. I agree with Soberwolf, it is a beautiful thing. Feel very lucky. And I do agree, that we do need to let these feelings be and just experience them...they are hard, but will pass. Still on day 15
