Pain management without drinking.

Today I hit day 8 of being sober. Last night was absolute hell. I have an infection in my tooth that was so painful it kept me up all night in tears. Usually when having to go through this sort of situation where over the counter medication just isn't cutting it, I would run to the liquor store and buy a bottle of rum and drink the entire thing until I couldn't feel the pain any longer. BUT, I didn't crack last night. I endured it. That was the perfect excuse for me to pick up the bottle again and resume my drunken stupidity and I overcame the AV inside my head. All in all, i am just really proud of myself. That's all I wanted to share.

Sorry about the tooth issue, sounds extremely painful, hope you can get in and see a dentist and get it taken care of soon! Glad you were able to silence the AV.
