Kenman-
Stay with it....too bad you can't get support from the wife..but don't let that be the excuse for starting up again. Get your support here and elsewhere, seek and you will find lots of support.
Best wishes.

Hey Kenman,
Welcome to DAY 2! You're already 10 hours and 22 minutes into it from where I am. My husband keeps drinking too. It's hard to look at all of those iced-down Heinekin's out in the garage refrigerator when I'm out there getting my diet Dr. Pepper or Sprite. My brother down the street keeps all of his beer iced down in the garage refrigerator too. Whenever anyone comes over no matter what time of day, his greeting is "Wanna beer"! It's tough alright. They still look at me as a drinker. It may take some time before they realize I'm not going there anymore. Your wife may treat you like a pot smoker for some time, but don't let it get under your skin. She's got some adjusting to do too. And remember, she's still under the influence, so her thinking's going to be kinda fuzzy. Hang in there.
Congrats on DAY 2. 10 hours and 29 minutes now....
Sandy

A big congrats on day 2. Your doing great, keep up the hard work. Yes...it does get easier. Focus on the next hour and work on the things you can change. Your getting through the tough days with flying colors. My typing skills suck too. Just think, the more time you spend on SR, the better your typing skills will get. It's a win, win, situation. Good luck today and may your day go by quickly and smoothly.
Take care,
Talia

HOORAY FOR DAY 2 kenman!!!! I'm sorry that your wife is not supporting you in this decision, hopefully when she sees how happy you will be drug-free she'll join you!!! Regardless, I am so proud of you for getting through the first day, and look forward to hearing about you getting through this one!
Hey, Kenman--Congratulations on day 2. I remember all to well what those first few weeks without the ganga felt like. Everything was so REAL!! (Especially my emotions.) But I got to feel, notice, experience the good stuff as well as the bad. I remember the first time I laughed. A real, belly-busting laugh! It felt so good!!!! I realized I had been keeping myself from feeling real joy while I was keeping myself stoned.
Be kind and patient with yourself in this tough time. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Have you thought about seeking out a support group?
Love and hugs--

Hi Kenman,
So glad you're still out there beating pot and cigarette smoking too. You didn't say you were trying to do both at one time. I guess you're going through a rough time then trying to do both. Just one day at a time. That's how all of us are making it. Congratulations on DAY 3.

Congrats on Day 3, keep up the great work.
Just something to think about, if it gets bad, pick up the cigs before the pot. Sometimes quitting more than one thing at a time is harder. I was clean a few years before I quit smoking.
Isn't it funny that people say pot is not addictive.
You hang in there, we are all here with you staying clean together just for the next hour.
