The numbers game
Hello,
Please forgive the self-indulgence but I like numbers
48 days today which equals the number of years I have lived on Earth.
48 is a good number, whichever way you slice it. And you can slice it many ways....
48 lots of 1 day struggles
24 times I have managed two days sober
16 successes at staying dry for three days
12 times I have not drunk for 96 hours ( also known as four days )
8 continuous six-day stints at 'being good'.
4 big 12-day abstinences
2 back to back bouts of 24 days each
and 1 uninterrupted session of forty-eight days sober.
Cant wait for days 64 and 96 (also very nice numbers )

I wasn't feeling great yesterday so didn't have the chance to post, but I cant let this one go with noting that yesterday was:
Day 64
which is
Eight Squared
or
Four Cubed
or
Two to the Power 5
Yes.
64 = 8^2 = 4^3 = 2^5.
That's
64 in base ten
and
10000 in binary
Also 24 x two day white knuckle rides
16 x three day abstensions
(Two and days and three days used to be the most I could ever manage).
Next post here will be Day 78 - A good and interesting number in itself, but also will be " F + 1" , where F = 'Fradley's longest ever period of sobriety ".
