Welcome UKstudent. You'll find a wealth of information here on strategies to get and stay sober, along with many who are either in the process of quitting or who have quit already. Many continue to stay here for their own support and the support of others.

The way it "works" is basically however you want it to! For most people though it involves sharing their story or at least indicating what their goals are. ( for example "I want to quit drinking" ). Then people respond with suggestions and experiences that might be relevant or helpful. It's also very helpful to read through posts, you'll most likely find that you are definitely not alone and lots of people "get it" in regards to what you are going through.
