Sister3

So I have two sisters that are heroin addicts; one is 18 and pregnant. I have been their mother figure since I was nine (both my parents are alcoholics) I just wanted to share that I went to my very first al anon meeting yesterday! It was amazing. I thought I had the worst story ever, barely survived childhood. There were about four people in the group that I cried when they spoke because it almost sounded like they grew up in the same house!! I can't believe I didn't try this sooner. The topic was resentment and forgiveness, and I have a lot of resentment...if you feel alone in your situation, try al anon...its like having your own secret family you can pour your heart out to with no judgment...you can have a voice!! 😉

Good for you!!!!!! That's a huge ginormous step in the right direction. It's funny-we feel so alone until we reach out and then find out there's a whole new world out there! Peace to you

Bless you for taking care of your sisters. The only way you truly can help them is by "putting your mask on first" as they say on an airplane.
