TED and awesomeness and gratitude
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately trying to get into this whole gratitude thing. Seems to be the way to go to remain sober. When I started, I had a really hard time finding things to be grateful for – after all, I never seem to win the lottery, my knee is still permanently damaged, living alone, there is no coffee and breakfast miraculously appearing on my nightstand. I kept looking for these big things to happen so I could finally feel grateful for something.
Then I watched this great guy on TED. Three As of awesomeness. Look it up. This guy has a blog, I really recommend it to anyone who – like me – has their head a bit closer to the clouds than the small stuff we surround ourselves with every day. I may be the last person on earth to discover this blog, but just in case I’m not, here it is: 1000 Awesome Things. I read a couple of posts any time I need some cheering up.
I just read number 989, and what can I say... What a feeling.

Stella, thanks for sharing this. Our weather has been pretty crappy lately, and my daughter and I have been very crabby. To make her laugh, I decided to exaggerate the things we were complaining about. By doing this, we started realizing just how great we really do have it and just how spoiled we had been sounding.
