Going to California today.
Going to California today.
Well I am flying to California today for 2 weeks for work. NY to Burbank, since I quit drinking I have taken 3 flights. Minnesota, Utah, and Colorado for some reason this trip is giving me anxiety because I am alone. I don't have any cravings to drink I am just nervous about being alone. I really wish I didn't have to go. I will be checking in here often.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
Here's something to help you feel at ease Sva, and I couldn't resist but I'm sure you won't mind (Going to California - Led Zep)
A really intimate and rare acoustic performance from their Earls Court appearance. Probably their finest hour that gig I think
Being a fine art consultant I'm sure you won't mind. Enjoy yourself and safe journey, wish I was going to California for 2 weeks

Hi sva. I hope you have a good trip. I recently read something about things to do in airports that don't involve drinking. Walking in the terminal is one thing that I remember. Sorry I can't find the link.
Enjoy yourself. We're with you in spirit. And on your phone.

Made out here to Oxnard, surprisingly humid. Guy next to me was boozing the entire flight and it didn't bother me. I did wake up this morning from a very real dream where I was drinking beer, does this happen to any of you?
Drinking dreams are very common, sva. I had one last night as well. I could almost taste the booze in my mouth when I woke up. Silly alcoholic brain trying to trick me when I'm most vulnerable.
Glad you checked in and wishing you the best on this trip!

No, but I'm really glad you made it out there. Good for you man. Oxnard is not far from where we have a house. Hopefully you can avoid the earthquakes and wildfires!
No fires yet and they actually got some rain. Your pretty lucky to have a house out here. I staying in a house with a gentleman who knows I don't drink and I think he is itching to drink but doesn't because I am here. I told him it was okay... be out here till the 30th.
I grew up near Oxnard in Simi Valley. Head out to the Reagan library. It's about 30 minutes from where you are. Go to the harbor in Ventura and just spend some time in relaxing places. Santa Barbara isn't too far a drive on a free weekend. There's a lot to do so keep you busy and alcohol free! Great job btw!
We got remnants from a storm system a few days ago that's made it humid out here. Pretty rare, particularly here in Northern Caliornia.

If you have not been out there before, the beach in the Santa Monica/Venice area is an experience. Also, Malibu beach is kind of neat. There is a restaurant called Malibu Seafood that has the best clam chowder in town. In on the PCH.
