Day 25

HI all. I'm on day 25 and wanted to share something. After years of addictive behavior, my brief time sober is still new to me. The one word to describe it is freedom. Freedom from having to always be planning my next drink. Freedom from sneaking around. Freedom from hangovers and lethargy. Freedom from guilt, shame and low esteem and freedom to enjoy my family again. It's only early in so I'm not getting over confident, but I can honestly say it's the best I've felt since I was a kid.

Hey lastchance, to borrow a thought from others on this forum: being an alcoholic can be a lot of damn work. So I can understand the freedom aspect you are experiencing. Wishing you the very best.
