Hello!
Hi. My name is Angella.
I'm very new to this "recovery" thing. Never knew I had a problem until recent and my father had to come home to dry me out.
I relapsed as soon as he left and my husband and I were left "unsupervised". I know, it sounds silly. But I felt like I was 21 again as soon as he left. I woke up the next day feeling horrible. My husband and I decided that we can't trust ourselves to tell the other to stop so we need to just stop booze all together.
So any words of wisdom would be loved!
Thank you in advance!

Welcome!
Sobriety is something that you need to decide you want. It's not something that your father can wish for you. I'm glad you've decided to do this for yourself.
I would caution you not to tie your recovery to your husband because honestly recovery is very personal and very hard and I know for me, I wouldn't have had the strength to support someone else in the early days.

Welcome Angella
Posting and reading on SR really helped me stay sober - and gave me a lot of good ideas on approaches.

Welcome, Angella. Great advice above from some of SR's finest. Seek sobriety for yourself; it will be one of the best gifts you ever give yourself.
I hope that you find sobriety as rewarding, gratifying and joyful as I have.
