The Other Side of the Bar
The Other Side of the Bar
There was a big festival in town this weekend and I helped out my community volunteering for a couple of activities. One of them was serving in the beer tent. I didn't work the extremely busy Saturday night, where the people were lined up and they staff could barely keep up (the park was filled to capacity). I worked the fairly easy Sunday shift.
Interesting to be on the other side. We are only allowed to serve two drinks per person. Some were clever (or thought they were) in getting more than 2 drinks (going to another server). We did notice. There was only a couple of people who were visibly drunk and "cut off". One guy came up many times and kept on saying - oh these aren't for me I'm just carrying them. For the most part, there was only a handful of people who were still partying.
The most popular beverage - Coors Lite, followed by Canadian.
I had no urges what-so-ever to drink even surrounded by all the revelers. I enjoyed the music, the surroundings and waking up sober.
Anyone else work at bars?
