Day 4

This is day 4 and I'm feeling pretty good. Still sweating a lot, but that's ok. It'll pass anyway. Surprisingly, I slept very well. And long (13 hours). Bizarre dreams, but most of the were actually pretty fun. I guess it's my brain restoring.

Other than that, I feel fine. I don't even think about drinking that often, which is odd since it was the only thing on my mind for years. But well, fine by me.

Time to enjoy another sober day!

All these things will improve massively by the 3 month mark. if you click my name you can read my posts about PAWS. that will help. How much and how long were you drinking?

Hang in there!

I started really noticing a difference about a week or two in. I started feeling less fatigued and the dreams slowed down. I'm only in the day 50s, but I feel SO much better already!

Wow, 4 days, super! I believe you're past the hardest part. How's the appetite? Do you exercise or have you ever been an "exerciser"?

I'm not exactly sure how long I were drinking. I think about 5 years (I'm 34 btw). I drank red wine at first 2-3 bottles a night. Then I switched to beer because I got tired of having to brush the purple stains from my lips and tongue. I drank about 18 cans a night. Sometimes I'd not sleep, drink all night and continue the next day, adding 12 more cans to it, at which point I would collapse and sleep it off. Then I wanted to drink again.

I'll look into the PAWS posts. Thanks a lot!

Thanks. The appetite is fine. Just normal. And I used to work out every other day, which I had to quit because of drinking. Now I have physical therapy for a back problem and after that I want to do something active again. Not sure what yet though. Maybe swimming.

Congratulations!! I drank heavily for about 5 years and I've been sober for 67 days now. Life is so much better. You're doing great! Keep going!
