Good news/Let Me Try This Again

He did say that I can start to take them off while resting or in my wheelchair etc...huge relief. The really good news was that all the anxiety I was having over these gaps in my prescriptions are of no consequence to him. He said I have had not one, but two serious surgeries and managing the pain is not a problem. He said, if you need pain medication, just call me. I mention it because with all the stress and consternation over becoming addicted or doctor shopping and all the other stuff that happens with narcotics, it was a relief to have the main man tell me to not be concerned. He informed me that he doesn't even look at that possibility until 3 months post surgery. Its a been a month. Nice to be looked at and treated like an adult and not a drug addict.

I'm really glad you worked that out with your dr. You do deserve to have your pain managed properly.

Let me try this again

Had a rather complete post about some good news written and it didn't transfer. I'll make it short:

Saw the surgeon, we are ahead of schedule. Going to phase 2 on physical therapy. Can begin to take braces off during rest. He was impressed with my progression. All the of the worry about prescription gaps were unwarranted as he told me to just let him know. Its after the 3 month mark when he starts trying to move away from medication.
Lastly, this will be my second straight 4th of July sober. So that's nice. There, I hope this posts.

I merged the two threads Jeff...it's not perfect but it's the best I could do.
