The longer you 'just go with it' Neo the harder it will be to stop - believe me. Been there.

There's no reason why you can;t be like the hundreds of other people here permanently and happily sober.

Look at what you've done to try and stay sober so far. Can you honestly say you've done all you could?

This is the fight for your future Neo - give it everything you have,. ok?

Feels like you are saying good bye and that's really sad.
Why not keep checking in no matter what you're struggling with?
Cutting loose from this support does not seem a good idea to me. Hope you post soon.

For me a good motivator has never been proving people wrong. my motivator is being sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I didn't like how my life was going so I had to try something different. It sucked and still sucks. but 71 days in and I feel a million times better so far. haha it makes me laugh how much of a difference I feel and how horrible I was 71 days ago.

Is it a good idea to start reading my rational recovery book now or with a sober head

Others may disagree but I say why wait - if you forget what you read, you can always re-read it again tomorrow

Going with it never got me anywhere Neo, I needed to make Sobriety happen, put a plan in place, and start making some tough decisions to achieve some Sober results!!

You can to, it's not beyond the realm of anyone to draw a line under alcohol!!

I agree, start reading now. Get a firm plan in your mind about how you can deal with this. You really and truly don't have to ever feel this bad again. One of the worst things about alcoholism is what it does to our self-esteem.

Slow down a bit Neo, please. You are making some pretty definitive statements, and I know you are making them in an altered frame of mind. Try to keep some perspective on the situation. You've got a case of the "**** its", right? This will probably not be a popular response, but do what you gotta do man to get this out of your system (both the alcohol and the funk you are in) and put it behind you, then refocus and move forward. You know you are serious about sobriety or you wouldn't be here. When the time is right (and hopefully sooner than later), get sobered up and have another go at it. As long as your still above ground, you're still trying and that's what matters Neo. Keep us posted.

The best time to start a plan to quit drinking is right now! You seem coherent enough to write legibly and undesrtand our responses so I see no reason you couldn't read some Rational Recovery material.

I see something familiar in your posts Neo. What I experienced when I wanted to quit and the next day actually did, was horrible. Everything seemed messed up, including myself. I spent all of day 1 in bed and today, on day 2, I figured that I might as well start doing normal stuff again. Shower, shave, do groceries, clean my place. And now at the end of this day, the initial perception of how terrible life was and what am mess I had created. Now I feel like I'm moving forward because I took action and I can see how things will clear up over time now that alcohol is no longer in my life.

Good Work on not drinking today. What made you stick to that commitment today? Establish a routine bit by bit, and you can stay sober just a single day (or hour) at a time if need be.

And yes...I remember looking in the mirror...And seeing a ghastly looking shell of man looking back (Not eating, dehydrated, hygiene out the window...) I'm coming up on 6 months sober now.

I much rather prefer the man looking back at me now.

One day at a time. That's all we can do.
