I made it past 48 hours without a drink!
I did it! I feel such a sense of relief! I haven't been able to get past day 2's for a full month. Today (with the advice on many of you on here lol), I just was stubborn with myself and didn't cave into the AV. Its weird how hard yet easy that simple task is. Once the AV gives up...my life goes back to normal. I learned something very very important today which I was royally forgetting this past month...You have to be able to ignore your AV and CONTINUE with your day as planned when it comes calling. I know its only been 2 days...its small in comparision to the veterans of this forum...but for me...knowing i'm waking up tomorrow at day 3 feels SO incredible.
There are lots of challenges that crop up in life and in sobriety. But in general terms those first days are the hardest, scariest and more awkward of the process. Each sober day you rack up will clear the fog a little bit and make the next one easier. I won't try to say it's all candy corn and moonbeams after that but it does get easier.
That is an awesome feeling isn't it? I could never get past 2 days. Then, it happened. The longest I have ever gone was 7 years ago while pregnant with my daughter, 9 months. Now, without a pregnancy, I am a little past nine months. I feel like I'm venturing into unknown territory, but safe unknown territory. Each milestone you set for yourself is something to be proud of. So huge congratulations! I'm so proud of you. One day at a time

Good job Scared! That's great. I say job because it is work to make it through the first bits. You did it! Keep building on that. I found that it was baby steps that got me through. One day at a time.
Congrats on two days! That's awesome.
Don't compare your time to the "veterans" here. All any of us have is today. If you woke up this morning sober, you're tied for the lead in sobriety time with all the other thousands of folks actively participating here. Proud of you!

Fantastic Scared!!
Yeap thoughts are merely that, they don't cause hangovers in the morning, there is nothing wrong in having thoughts and learning to ignore and carry on is great skill to develop!!
