Day 1 has come and gone

Found this site this morning and read a couple bajillion posts throughout the day. I'm and alcoholic and it's threatening to break up my marriage. I choose her. But I know this is going to be hard. I've tried quitting many times before but this has to stick. I will be seeking out AA as well but this will be a great place to remind me what and why I'm doing this.

Welcome! My marriage is also in rough shape due to this disease. I know what you're going through and it is painful. This can be fixed with work if you can find your way. I'm starting to find mine again now.

This forum is a great place to start.

I started roughing up my marriage (10 months old, yikes!) but you can do it. It's never too late, if you're still together. Go to a meeting - it's not that scary. Maybe even find an open one with a speaker and go together. I did that with my wife and the speaker clicked with me and my wife understood me better!
