Steel box in the Summer
My basic rule for staying sober was to not drink. I'm not being funny - that basic aim took a lot of work and needed a lot of support.
Someday I got through pretty well and other days I wanted to punch a wall - but I used the support I had and I got through
I also avoided places, at least for a little while where I knew drinking would be occurring.
That doesn't mean you need to be a hermit - just be a bit smarter about what you do for fun and who you do it with?
if you want change, make changes basically, feren

First off an acceptance that me and alcohol were just not compatible, that was the foundation.
Next up a plan which built in daily support into my daily routine as in isolation my mind would sell me every fairytale it could on why drinking was a good idea.
Finally simply doing the same things and expecting Sobriety to happen never worked, I needed to build new routines, be proactive, create a new lifestyle, not carry on with the same activities, or hang out with the same people, get revolutionary in my habits to make Sobriety work!!
You can do this!!
