We are the authors of our own lives......that's what my psychiatrist said today.....it struck me.....and I started to think about whether or not I've been doing a good job writing my story. And I think that I have and I just took a small recess to re access my story and I'm emotionally better for it......the financial aspect needs to catch up and I am actively working on that. I told my doctor about this site and he asked me what I learned and I couldn't put it into words.....but I have learned a lot ....and I'm better because of this site. I can feel myself changing and becoming unstuck. I just wanted to share that insight. Thanks for listening.

thanks for your post. I sometimes try and think about life like i would say a story. you watch a story play out or a movie and you get to watch all those ups and downs and twists and turns and its captivating and entertaining. But when the character is you its not always so exciting is it? But it can be. Our stories are like any other story twists and turns ups and downs the passion the love etc... So sometimes its nicer to try and look at my life as if i where on the outside looking in from an Unhooked perspective if you will. Then I can see how great my lifes actually been and interesting too.

Life is not a spectator sport. You may not be able to create your own luck, but the more work you put into it, the luckier you get.

I agree Debbie, sometimes it's hard to put into words the lessons we learn but yet we feel "filled up".

The reason it struck me is because for the last 7 years......I haven't been completely in charge of my story.......I've let outside influences play too large of a role in charting my course to a certain extent. I am definitely changed. I've only been coming since May 2015.....but I read a lot on here.....not just this forum but others and it's really been invaluable. I am motivated to excel again and it feels great. I feel freer.
