Back again after a year or so
Decided last Sunday to go back to being my better sober self. Always less anxiety, calmer and sleep better. Also I need to lose the nearly 23 lbs I've gained over the last 2 years. Mostly because I did not run as much as always (plantar fasciitis) - and the wine, beer, martinis etc. certainly don't help! So today is day 3 and feeling clear-headed and full of energy. It is also week 6 of training for a marathon, not an easy task in this heat & humidity. Doing some of my workouts in the pool (aquajogging) which is boring as hell but saves the legs and is doable even if it is 95F with humidity in the same percentile range.
It is good to know that there is a place where I can look for support and encouragement and also help where I can, with other persons in the same boat.

Welcome back, Joe!
I too am trying/working/thinking/hoping to get back to a sober self, while reconciling a number of things in my life. It's not easy. It does sound like you DEF have gotten started on the right path, and have some goals to shoot for.
I'm jealous, in a good way. Good luck, man!

Thanks all, nice to be back! This will be marathon #14 for me, but different because we don't ordinarily train for them in the Houston summer. Always a first time. Tang good luckk on the 10K!
