O/T: Inside Out (new movie)

I took DD7 to see this yesterday and it was really amazing. I think even us adult codies could benefit, I know I did!

DD7 is in therapy right now and due to her dad being all over the place right now. I dont want to ruin it, but it helped her understand feelings/emotions. I think for any of you with children or even without should go see it. The message is priceless.

Hmm, my mom just recommended this to me...maybe between this thread, her recommendation, and the new developments in my situation, it's one of those "sent from above" things and I should really go and do it.

I dont want to give it away but the premise is that it identifies our emotions within our head, how core memories shape and affect us and how emotions are needed and important! I wish I saw a movie like this when I was little!

Pixar is brilliant. The voices of the different emotions were just masterful!

I'm the only female in my house. I took six boys and dad to this today...had some fun conversations about how to recognize our feelings, how they often conflict, and that they're VALID. Great messaging. We all spent the evening saying "oh, that sounded like your green guy speaking", "and that was definitely red"!!! Time very well spent.

I really can't wait to see this one - DD is going with friends on Thursday, they have all been wanting to see it for weeks. It looks great, thanks for the recommendation!

DS and I were counting down the days until this one came out. Big plans centered around it: We took Grandpa (my dad) and his wife to see it for Father's Day on Saturday. We all loved it. On the drive home, DS was talking about the Blue and Red character-traits.

It definitely helped give me another frame of reference for dealing with my own depression and anxiety issues.

I can't wait to take my kids to see this. It will be a great point of reference, especially for my 9yo.
