Hi I'm new here!
Hi I'm new here!
I just want to introduce myself, I am 47, female, stay at home mom. Married for 18 years with 16 year old daughter.
Had first drink around 16 and it was such an awful experience, I rarely touched it again.
Then 3 years ago I decided to fly after a long time of not traveling. I had a drink on the airplane.
Long story short, I am now an alcoholic of the binge drinking type. Not for pleasure, but self medication. I hold my nose and gulp it down.
I'm in therapy, go to A.A. Meetings 5x a week, and am reading about other options for recovery. My last binge was June 15th.
I think this is going to be an interesting place!

Hello Listener ...
This Sober Recovery site has been a huge part of my recovery ... hope to see you stay around and hear your progress.
AA saved my life, but I struggled hard for a long time. "Just Don't Drink and Go to Meetings" helped, but my Life was turned around (and as the Big Book says, Rocketed Into the 4th Dimension), when I actually worked the 12 Steps, with help from my Sponsor and by doing online Web Searches for Sites that offer free help with each of the steps.
Also, I got a great amount of help and direction by doing Web Searches for Recovery Speaker messages, most of which are FREE.
RDBplus3 ... Happy, Joyous, and FREE ... and I KNOW U can B 2

Really happy you are here. Such a group of real people who struggle and share those struggles and successes. Be as open as you can and post lots. I've had several day ones here and have never felt judged, only supported. Because everyone has been there!!
